How do I know what's vegan and what isn't?
- Navigating labels is a big part of being vegan. The good news is that the longer you are vegan, the easier it becomes
- Best case scenario, the product is clearly labelled as Vegan on the front, or has the Certified Vegan logo
- Do not be put off by warning that say 'may contain milk'. These are in place due to manufacturing methods and are interpreted by many as 'accidentally vegan'
- Remember that lactose-free or free-from does not mean vegan by default so always check
- A few animal ingredients to look out for: casein, lactose, whey, honey, buttermilk, gelatine, keratin, shellac, vitamin D3, isinglass, collagen
