Edinburgh has become the first British city - and the first in Europe - to endorse the Plant Based Treaty. It follows Haywards Heath Town Council leading the way in July last year.
The treaty is designed to put food systems at the forefront of combating the climate crisis, ending the widespread degradation of ecosystems caused by animal agriculture and fostering a shift to healthier, sustainable, plant-based diets.
